Today's Fact

The target on Bullseye’s forehead was originally just ink — a tattoo the assassin wore as a logo. It became a scar in Daredevil Vol. 2 #49 (2003), by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, during one of the ugliest fights in the pair’s long history.
Bullseye had come to kill Matt Murdock’s new girlfriend, Milla Donovan, capitalising on the leaked secret that Murdock was Daredevil. Murdock, already near breaking point, finally snapped. He beat Bullseye to a pulp, threw him out of a window, and along the way dismantled him verbally — announcing that he knew the assassin’s closely guarded secrets: the name Lester, a mother who was a prostitute, a father he never knew.
Then came the signature. Mocking the fresh tattoo, Daredevil picked up a sharp rock and carved a bullseye pattern into Bullseye’s forehead over the ink, leaving the mark as a permanent scar. The assassin who branded himself walked away branded by his enemy instead — a hero’s one act of pure cruelty, worn on the front of his head ever since.
Why It's Obscure
Plenty of heroes have beaten Bullseye. Only one has signed the work — and he signed it on the man’s face, in the shape of the man’s own name.
