Depowered on M-Day, Jubilee came back as Wondra — in a stolen super-suit!
The Featured Fact

When the Scarlet Witch whispered "No more mutants" on M-Day (House of M, 2005), Jubilee was one of the highest-profile mutants to lose her powers. No more fireworks. No more X-Men — she couldn't even stay at the Institute. She ran a halfway house for depowered mutants in Queens, got badly hurt in an Omega Red attack, and hit rock bottom. Then Night Thrasher came calling — and Jubilee came back as Wondra.

The new New Warriors (vol. 4, 2007) were a team of depowered mutants fighting the post–Civil War registration regime — and they fought with stolen tech. Night Thrasher outfitted the team with gear looted from the condemned Avengers Mansion, including reverse-engineered versions of the Wizard's Wonder Gloves. Jubilee's suit gave her superhuman strength — enough to lift a freight-train engine over her head — plus a force field, flight via hover discs, and a "ghost mode" that turned her intangible. She became the team's second-in-command and drill instructor.

The kicker: Wondra's tech powerset was arguably better than her mutant one — strength, flight, force fields, intangibility, all without the vampire curse or the fireworks' limits. She led the Warriors through battles with Grey Gargoyle, Anaconda, and Rhino, and held the team together when Night Thrasher's secrets nearly tore it apart. Her mutant powers would eventually return years later — but for a while, the girl who lost everything built herself a better arsenal out of spare parts.

Why It's Obscure

No powers, no problem: Jubilee raided the Avengers' junk drawer and came back stronger.

2005
House of M / M-Day — The Scarlet Witch's reality wave strips powers from most mutants. Jubilee, one of the most prominent depowered, leaves the Institute and runs a safe house for ex-mutants in Queens.
2007
New Warriors (vol. 4) #1 — Night Thrasher recruits depowered mutants to defy the Superhuman Registration Act. Jubilee takes the codename Wondra and a power suit built from looted Avengers tech.
2007
The Wonder Gloves — Reverse-engineered from the Wizard's gloves, Wondra's gauntlets grant superhuman strength (freight-train engine, overhead), a bulletproof force field, and flight.
2007
Ghost mode — The suit's wildest trick: intangibility on demand, letting Wondra phase through anything — a power borrowed from Shadowcat's playbook, worn by Jubilee.
Trivia
Wondra even grew giant-sized at one point, squashing a Skrull flat. Fans still ask why she never kept the suit — the honest answer is that the X-office would rather forget the New Warriors era happened.
