THE X-MEN PUT GAMBIT ON TRIAL — AND LEFT HIM IN ANTARCTICA!

Turns out "I led a death squad to the Morlocks before I met you" is not the kind of secret you save for the anniversary dinner.

Uncanny X-Men #350 (1997): Erik the Red — really Magneto — stages the trial in Antarctica, Rogue's absorbed memories are the evidence, and the guilty verdict ends with Gambit abandoned in the ice.

GAMBIT JOINED APOCALYPSE ON PURPOSE — AND THE BRAINWASHING WORKED!

His master plan was to infiltrate Apocalypse as a double agent. His backup plan was apparently "become Death and try to kill my wife."
